I read a book called Frindle by Andrew Clements. Frindle is about a boy and a teacher fighting over which word is the right word. Frindle or pen? The main characters are Nick Allen and Mrs. Granger. Mrs. Granger was the most hated teacher in the Lincoln Elementary. She loved the dictionary and every word in it. One day Nick was asking Mrs. Granger questions about the dictionary to waste time. She told Nick to write a report about it. So Nick wrote one and came up with an idea. He made up a word, it was frindle. Nick had everyone in the school saying frindle. Then the battle began. It ended when Mrs. Granger sent a letter telling Nick the word frindle was in the dictionary. From then on Nick Allen and Mrs. Granger were friends. I liked the story. I think it is neat that they made up the word frindle. I think this because it describes everything well. Andrew Clements also wrote Billy and the Bad Teacher. He has a wife and four kids. |
